Much-loved Kebab shop in Bristol to close after 33 years

The owners of a long-running kebab house in Bristol have announced the restaurant will close next month.

Cyprus Kebab Shop opened on St Michael's Hill more than 30 years ago and has built up a loyal following of customers over that time.

It has a rating of four out of five on TripAdvisor from 94 reviews, with people praising the 'authentic' Greek cuisine and 'good value food'.

But at the end of March its owners George and Flora, who launched the business in 1987, will shut up shop for the final time so they can enjoy their retirement.

In a message shared on Facebook, they wrote: "It is with a heavy heart but sheer excitement that we announce the end of an era!

"Those of you that know us well, know that The Kebab House is 24/7 and has been our life for almost 33 years.

"We have met some amazing people and customers that have become our friends and family!

"It’s going to be very strange that we can finally put our feet up and enjoy our grandchildren and rest of our family both here in the UK and Cyprus..."

The restaurant and takeaway's last day will be on March 28. George and Flora said it 'would be amazing to see as many of you as possible before this date'.

They went on to thank their loyal customers over the years, who are responsible for 'making our small family run business a dream come true'

"No words would ever be enough to show our appreciation for your custom," they added.
