'Much-loved' dad-of-three named as man killed in Cardiff Bay motorbike crash

Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist who died in a crash near a busy Cardiff roundabout.

John Crofts, 54, from the Grangetown area of Cardiff, died in the accident in Cardiff Bay on Thursday.

His family, who are being supported by specially-trained family liaison officers, have paid tribute to a beloved son, husband, father, and brother.

In a statement released through police they said: "Sadly Graham John Crofts, known as John to his friends and family, lost his life in a motorbike accident.

“Much-loved son of Mary and Graham, husband to Helen, father to Jacob, Joel and Alexandra. Brother to Jenny, and nephew, uncle and cousin to so many. 

“Those that knew him know how much of a presence he was and how greatly he will he missed by all.”

The crash happened at 6pm on the A4232 Central Link roundabout prior to the Queensgate Roundabout, Cardiff.


South Wales Police officers are continuing their appeal for anybody who may have witnessed the incident, or who may have seen the vehicle involved prior to the collision, to contact them on 101 quoting reference *196733.
