Much loved city centre Ryde cafe finds a new home after sudden closure last year

One of the Baltic Triangle’s most popular venues has confirmed it has found a new home after closing unexpectedly last year.

Ryde, formerly based in Cains Brewery Village, announced that it would close for the foreseeable future back in December.

The bicycle café said that “due to developments on the site” it had closed its venue on Stanhope Street, which had been its home for the past five years.

Now, Ryde has confirmed it has found its new home and it's just minutes from its former venue.

Sharing the news on social media, Ryde said: “Our new home is finally here! The team have been working really hard over the past few weeks to ryde-ify our new space

“We are now located inside the lovely northern lights building on Mann street! So we are still part of the wonderful cains brewery village and less than a minute away from our original home!

“Due to current restrictions we are unable to open fully so we have decided to open for take away only (....and bike repairs) Come check us out from 9am this Wednesday the 6th!”

Fans were quick to comment on Ryde’s Facebook post expressing their happiness at the news.

Among the comments, one person said: “Looking forward to visiting your new home.”
