A Belfast City Centre hair salon has shared the news that it will be closing its doors "for good" at the end of this week.
Bill Harris Hairdressing, which is located on Hill Street in the Cathedral Quarter, shared the news this afternoon, saying that they loss of trade from lockdown has left them with "no other choice" but to close down.
The salon, which is heading up by Bill Harris - who has been a professional hairdresser in the city for 40 years - said that all appointments made for the coming week would be taken as usual.
They also said that staff would be "still be working" going forward, but that it would not be as part of this business.
Bill Harris Hairdressing's full statement on their closure reads:
"Hey everyone, it comes with great difficulty and sadness to tell you all that after ten years of trade we will be closing our doors for good after this Saturday the 12th of September.
"This has been no easy decision but the loss of trade from being closed for three months during lockdown has left us with no other choice as a business.
"All appointments this week will be taken as usual, and I myself along with the team will be contacting those with future appointments to either hand out the numbers of the stylists and colour technicians those of you are booked in with so that you can follow them where they themselves set up.
"We will all still be working but not as this business and most likely in different places.
"By all means contact either our Facebook or give myself a call on 02890 23 5555 and check that we do indeed have your number and I can pass on your details so that appointments can be honoured or re arranged.
"As this is quite a task and the news has come to ourselves quite suddenly, I appreciate your patience and concern in these matters and we do apologise for all inconvenience this creates for our customers.
"I will post up later in the week where staff are going to to the best of my knowledge or links to their personal pages or phone numbers where applicable.
"Bill and myself would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers and staff over the years for making this a great place to work and for the good times along the way.
"We would also like to thank the business owner Maire Henderson for all of her hard work over the years and for putting up with the headaches managing us.
"A further thanks to the team at Alfaparf, especially Wenda, David, Mel and Ciaran for providing us with the opportunity to work within a great education system and for the help and support over the years.
"And a final thanks to Simon Templeton, our landlord for being great for our entire tenure under his roof.
