Much-loved cafe Marmalade Skies reopens with a new look and name

Family friendly cafe Marmalade Skies on Allerton Road has re-opened after closing in July.

Now renamed Glass Onion, the venue is back open as an independent vegetarian and vegan cafe.

Glass Onion specialises in homemade food, cake, afternoon tea and coffee, and is dedicated to striving for low waste.

Marmalade Skies closed its doors after three and a half years in July , with owners posting on Instagram to announce the closure.

They said: “It's been a great 3 1/2 years but with a heavy heart and after much deliberation we’ve decided to close Marmalade Skies at the end of the month.

"We’re really sad to say goodbye and we want to thank our many customers over the years, whether you’ve visited once or a hundred times! We feel so privileged to have watched your babies grow up.”

Glass Onion is currently open Monday - Saturday from 10am to 4pm, though opening hours are expected to extend soon.
