MTV VMAs fans accuse Lil Nas X of lip-syncing as he hits stage with Panini

Lil Nas X was accused of lip-syncing as he took to the stage at the MTV VMAs .

The rapper, whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill, performed his new song Panini for a screaming crowd at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, after being introduced by Billy Ray Cyrus.

But while most people praised the 20-year-old for his showmanship and choreography, some accused him of miming along to a recording of his song.

One said on Twitter : "Lil Nas X lip-syncing the hell out of this mess lmao"

Another wrote: "Why are all the #VMAs lip synced? Isn't the point of these things to watch performers LIVE? No one looks good lip syncing. NO ONE"

While one said: "This lip syncing is horrible."

And another commented: "Lip syncing...really"

Not everyone felt the same way though.

The list of performers for this year's awards also included Taylor Swift , Miley Cyrus, Jonas Brothers, Camila Cabello, Normani, Big Sean featuring A$AP Ferg, Ozuna, and Shawn Mendes.
