MSU Women’s Basketball looking at tough 2019-20 schedule

The Michigan State Women’s Basketball team had their schedule released on Friday and it is looking to be quite formidable. Head Coach Suzy Merchant and her Spartans could be playing as many as eight teams that played in the NCAA Tournament last season, five of whom are Big Ten programs.

The Spartans will be hosting 14 home games at the Breslin Center, nine of which are conference matchups against Big Ten opponents. They will also be playing in two tournaments, the Junkanoo Jam in the Bahamas and the Sunshine Classic in Orlando, Florida.

MSU will start the season on October 30th in an exhibition at home against Ferris State, then host Eastern Michigan again at home on November 5th.

Michigan State will be returning three of their top players this season with All-Big Ten honorees Shay Colley, Taryn McCutcheon, and Nia Clouden all coming back for 2019-20. Colley led the team with 14.1 points-per-game last season.

Of course, former Spartan Aerial Powers has been killing it in the WNBA of late.
