No surprises here. Shortly after Michigan State’s senior linebacker Joe Bachie was already named to Pro Football Focus’ Team of the Week, he was named the Big Ten’s Defensive Player of the Week this morning for his insanely good game in the 31-10 win over Northwestern.
Bachie had 14 tackles, two sacks and an interception in the game along with an insane goal-line stop. Bachie was truly all over the field yesterday and Dantonio actually said that Bachie was off the charts in his own numeric player grading system.

Michigan State’s defense could be the best Dantonio has ever worked with, and that is largely due to the presence of his senior leader Bachie.
