In the category of ‘things I did not expect to see when I woke up today,’ Stone Cold Steve Austin of late ’90s WWE fame, posted a hype video this morning for WWE’s debut of Smackdown on FOX and it contained footage of both Michigan State football and basketball teams spliced in.
Both clips are featured towards the end of the video when they are doing quick cuts showing different fans around the world doing the Daniel Bryan ‘Yes chants.’ For those unfamiliar, this is when fans put their pointer fingers in the air and all chant yes together. It’s a fun chant that has caught on at sporting events, even if most of the fans don’t even realize the origin.
Anyway, this is a fun thing for Spartan fans and gives a little national spotlight to the University which is always cool. It seems like a piece of content directed right at me as I’m a die-hard wrestling and MSU fan, so bravo WWE. Watch the video above and maybe The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin can get you even more amped for today’s game.
