A group of Michigan State basketball figures assembled in Michigan yesterday to help Spartan big man Xavier Tillman tie the knot with fiance Tamia Todd.
The ceremony featured a star-studded cast of Spartan greats. Former Spartan and second-year Memphis Grizzlies Center Jaren Jackson Jr. was in the wedding party. Practically every player from this season’s Final Four run was also in attendance along with coach Tom Izzo.
Tillman was the Big Ten Sixth Man of the Year last season after emerging as a star of the conference after Nick Ward went down. Tillman’s mobility on defense and intelligence on offense helped MSU reach their peak last year, ultimately leading to a Final Four run in which they knocked off Duke and Zion Williamson, largely due to Tillman’s superb defense on Zion.
Tillman wasn’t ever supposed to be an NBA prospect, but after last season he will likely have the chance to leave school early for the pros. Congratulations to him and his beautiful bride!
