MSU basketball recruiting target Cam’Ron Fletcher commits to Kentucky

As we’ve been tracking for the last few months, Michigan State and Tom Izzo have been extremely focused on signing 4-star small forward Cam’Ron Fletcher out of St. Lous, Missouri. Well, Fletcher broke our hearts this morning by announcing his commitment to John Calipari’s Kentucky Wildcats.

Michigan State was one of the top-5 teams on Fletcher’s recruiting list and there was a lot of optimism that Izzo could snag the star forward. Fletcher is the #2 ranked player in the state of Missouri, the #8 ranked small forward in the country, and the #37 ranked player in the country overall.

Michigan State is still in the running for a couple more highly ranked forwards for the 2020 class to join point guard Jalen Terry. Jaemyn Brakefield is still available on that list. The #1 ranked player in West Virginia is the #3 ranked power forward in the country.

Of course, Michigan State’s top priority will be to land the commitment of Jaley Terry’s friend and 5-star forward Isaiah Jackson.
