MSU Basketball G Brock Washington’s sexual assault case being investigated by AG

Updated 3/30/2020: The Michigan’s Attorney General’s office has requested that they review a sexual assault case relating to Brock Washington that occurred on January 19th, 2020. While coach Tom Izzo never said what Washington’s suspension was related to, it occurred 5 days after the event, which now may be put under further review after the concerns over the coronavirus subside.

Original post from 1/24/2020:

Michigan State Basketball and MSU head coach Tom Izzo told the media after Thursday’s loss to Indiana that former walk-on guard Brock Washington has been suspended. Izzo did not say why the redshirt sophomore was suspended, or for how long, but Indiana was the first game he missed and he will also be missing Sunday’s game against Minnesota.

The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Washington has only played 19 minutes over nine games for the Spartans this season, with his last minutes coming in the blowout loss to Purdue.

On the season, Washington has seven points, seven rebounds, and one assist. Brock Washington only played in seven games last year after redshirting in the 2017-18 season.

This is not exactly a big loss for MSU but you never like to see someone be suspended, and we’ll have to wait and see if we learn why Washington is not with the team for this road trip.
