MSU Athletics to induct Dan Bass, Mike Robinson to Hall of Fame Thursday

Michigan State will be inducting multiple Spartan legends into their Athletics Hall of Fame this Thursday, most notable of those being Dan Bass (football) and Mike Robinson (basketball).

“This is an outstanding class that includes national and school record holders, trailblazers and national champions,” Michigan State athletic director Bill Beekman said. “When I look at the credentials of each honoree, I’m a bit surprised that they weren’t already in the Hall of Fame, which speaks to the overall strength of this class.”

Here is the complete 2019 Hall of Fame class:

  • Dan Bass (football)
  • Mike Robinson (basketball)
  • Tom Milkovich (wrestling)
  • Karen Dennis (track and field)
  • Mike Donnelly (hockey)

Dan Bass was a complete tackling machine for Michigan State between 1976-79. He had 541 career tackles including 32 in one game against Ohio State in 1979.

By averaging 24.2 points-per-game, Mike Robinson is Michigan State’s career points-per-game leader. To put it into perspective, MSU’s top career points-per-game leader in the modern era is Shawn Respert at 21.27 points-per-game over his career.

There will be a special ceremony for the Hall of Fame during half time of the Penn State vs. Michigan State this Saturday at Spartan Stadium.
