The MS Society was founded in 1953 and since then they have been fundraising for research into multiple sclerosis and supporting those with the condition.

One of their key fundraising events is the MS Walk where you can choose to walk 1K, 5K, 10K, or 20K to raise money and for the first time you can do it in Cardiff.

The walk will start in Bute Park , Cardiff on Sunday, October 17 at 10am and there are different routes for each distance.

It costs £15 for adults to take part, £7 for under 18s and children under 5 go free with all money raised going towards the MS Society.

All the walks will start and finish in Bute Park, meeting at the Caird Theatre to start the walk. The different routes will take you past iconic Cardiff landmarks like Cardiff Castle , the Principality Stadium , and Cardiff Bay.

Once registered for the walk you will receive an MS Walk orange tee-shirt, a welcome pack with advice and information and while walking the route there will be rest areas along the way staffed with volunteers giving out water, snacks, and enthusiasm.

You can register for the walk here.

The walk will be set off in waves and groups of walkers and the MS Society have recommended that you are prepared for all weathers and although water will be available to bring your own bottle too.

2021 is the first time there has been an MS Walk in Cardiff with Bristol and Manchester also taking part for the first time.
