HYDERABAD: "Our motto is to turn talented players into next generation cricketers," said Yasasvi Malka, COO, Delhi Public School and Pallavi Group of Institutions, and in charge of the MS Dhoni Cricket Academies (MSDCA) in Hyderabad. The MSDCA was formally inaugurated at the Delhi Public School, Nacharam on Friday. The academy will start providing training from February 20.
"Initially we are planning to take 200 talented players for training. The minimum age limit for trainees is seven and there’s no upper age limit. Our aim is to take talented children from towns and villages and provide them training here. We have excellent world-class facilities at the academy here including nine turf wickets, residential facilities for trainees, including hostel, ultra-modern gymnasium, fitness and physiotherapy centers, nutrition experts etc. We have also appointed two top-class BCCI expert coaches, V Ventatraman and Satrajit Lahari for training here,’’ he added.
Mihir Diwakar, managing director, Arka Sports MSDCA, said, "MSDCA is formed with the sole objective of providing a platform to aspiring cricketers in the country through a structured program that equips our players with the skills they need to succeed in cricket and in life. Our unique and groundbreaking coaching program is built around the core values with which our mentor M S.Dhoni lives and plays by integrity, team work and enjoyment, professionalism and adaptability," he said.
The academy is also planning to extend the training facilities at various Pallavi Group of Institutions branches at Gandipet, Boduppal, Keesara and DPS, Nadergul.
State minister for labour and employment Ch Malla Reddy, SATS chairman A Venkateshwar Reddy, Malka Komaraiah, pro vice-chairman DPS and Pallavi group of institutions and others were present.
