Mrs Wilson: Everything you need to know about Ruth Wilson's gripping BBC drama

Ruth Wilson is stepping out of her own shoes and into her grandmother’s in a new gripping BBC drama.

The Luther star will play Alison to tell the story of how her grandmother discovered her husband had a secret other life.

With a star-studded cast, the three-part drama promises to be unlike any other as secrets are unearthed in the semi-autobiographical drama.

What is Mrs Wilson about?

The miniseries starts with Alison Wilson, a happily married woman content with her life until her husband, Alexander, dies suddenly after they were reunited in 1963.

But the grieving widow is left in shock when Gladys turns up on her doorstep, claiming to be “Alec’s” wife.

Hurt but curious, Alison sets out on a journey to discover who her husband really was and what lies beneath their romance.

Who stars in Mrs Wilson?

Ruth Wilson plays the titular character while Iain Glen is the late and mysterious Alexander...or Alec.

Alison and Alexander’s two sons Gordon and Nigel are played by Calam Lynch and Otto Farrant. Elizabeth Rider takes on the role of Gladys.

Bodyguard’s Keeley Hawes and Fiona Shaw also appear.
