Mrs Hinch shares the 'declutter jar' method that keeps her home tidy with two toddlers

Mrs Hinch has shared the simple decluttering tip she uses to help keep her house tidy with two toddlers running about - and it is perfect for busy families.

'Queen of clean' and mum-of-two, Sophie Hinchliffe revealed the tip during an appearance on Lorraine to promote her new children's book, Welcome to Hinch Farm. Chatting with the host about all things cleaning, Mrs Hinch, as her fans call her, said she's 'obsessed' with the 'declutter jar' she's introduced in her home.

While the duo were keen to stress 'we're not saying you have to have the perfect house because nobody has', Sophie explained the tip is perfect for getting rid of clutter.

She said: "It's as simple as a jar filled with numbers from one to 30, folded up. Then each day when you get the chance, you just take one out and you find that number of objects around the home or garden. It can be as little as a button to a piece of furniture. And you just either recycle it, you donate it, you get rid of it, you bin it. You just empty that amount of items - and I'm hooked."

The expert added that the method works so well she's only got a few numbers left in her jar - something her husband might not be so pleased about.

"It's just little things that you don't realise build-up, and I'm loving it. My husband not so much because his boxers are gradually vanishing," she joked.

During her appearance, Sophie also spoke about her success as a cleaning sensation over the years.

When Lorraine Kelly quizzed her on why she thinks she struck a chord with her followers, the influencer said: "If I'm perfectly honest, to this day, it's been a long time, I still don't quite know how it has taken off to be as it is."

"I just think we needed someone to tell us how to sort ourselves out," the host quipped, and Sophie replied: "My followers are phenomenal. They are incredible. The support they give me and my family has enabled us to do things we could only ever dream of. It has been incredible."
