Mrs Hinch says 'everything is a fog' as son Ronnie, 3, rushed to hospital

Sophie Hinchcliffe has been left terrified after her young son was rushed to hospital as his temperature soared to over 40C.

The social media cleaning sensation - known to her millions of followers as Mrs Hinch - shared an emotional update after Ronnie, three, had to make a medical dash over the weekend.

She went very quiet on Instagram over the past few days and explained why on Sunday night as the boy remains in hospital.

The 33-year-old apologised for her "radio silence" and in an Instagram Story post she told everyone exactly what had been going on.

Sophie, who shares Ronnie and Lennie, two, with husband Jamie, says her gut feeling made her get the little lad checked out.

"Everything seems like fog right now," she told her fans online.

"Ron's temperature spiked to over 40C and his neck was swelling with limited head movement. I couldn't keep meds or fluids in him. We were taken to A&E and sent home with antibiotics and it just didn't feel right.

"My gut told me 'no'. So after phoning 111 we were taken back in and thankfully admitted."

Sophie said Ronnie was then given IV antibiotics and that the family is now seeing a "really, really slow improvement", but that the toddler will be in for a "little longer yet".

She added: "Absolutely nothing prepares you for something like this. Being on a children's ward, seeing so many innocent little arms bandaged with cannulas. I just can't comprehend the whole thing.

"But I wanted to check in on here very quickly whilst Ron's asleep. I share so much of my life on here, the good and the bad.

"I have a fantastic support network from my followers so I just wanted to say thank you for so many messages. I haven't vanished I promise".

She also said Ronnie "smiled away in the ambulance, loved seeing all the buttons and wires, and now thinks his cannula is his own little wire of magic".

It's not the first time she has gone quiet online this year.

Mrs Hinch revealed she was going through "personal life stumbles" in April as she explained why she has been absent from social media.
