Mrs Hinch's son Ronnie, 3, rushed to hospital as she says 'everything is a fog'

Cleaning guru Sophie Hinchcliffe was deeply concerned for her young son who was rushed to hospital as his temperature soared to over 40C.

The social media star - known to many as Mrs Hinch - gave her fans an emotional update after Ronnie, three, was taken to get medical attention over the weekend. The mum-of-two has been absent on Instagram over the past few days and explained why on Sunday night as little Ronnie remains in hospital, writes The Mirror.

She apologised to her fans for the "radio silence" and in an Instagram Story post, as she told everyone exactly what had been going on.

Sophie, who shares Ronnie and Lennie, two, with husband Jamie, says her gut feeling made her take Ronnie to hospital.

She said: "Everything seems like fog right now."

"Ron's temperature spiked to over 40C and his neck was swelling with limited head movement. I couldn't keep meds or fluids in him. We were taken to A&E and sent home with antibiotics and it just didn't feel right.

"My gut told me 'no'. So after phoning 111 we were taken back in and thankfully admitted."

The concerned mum said Ronnie was then given IV antibiotics and that the family is now seeing a "really, really slow improvement", but that the toddler will be in for a "little longer yet".

She added: "Absolutely nothing prepares you for something like this. Being on a children's ward, seeing so many innocent little arms bandaged with cannulas. I just can't comprehend the whole thing.

She told her fans why she had been so quiet on social media lately (mrshinchhome/Instagram)

"But I wanted to check in on here very quickly whilst Ron's asleep. I share so much of my life on here, the good and the bad.

"I have a fantastic support network from my followers so I just wanted to say thank you for so many messages. I haven't vanished I promise".

She also said Ronnie "smiled away in the ambulance, loved seeing all the buttons and wires, and now thinks his cannula is his own little wire of magic".
