Mrs Hinch's most popular cleaning tip will cost you £1.85

Coronavirus lockdown has inspired many to declutter and clean their homes from top to bottom so it's ready for life after lockdown.

According to Google, 50% of us are tidying up more than ever, with “Mrs Hinch cleaning tips” one of the top searches online this month.

Instagram star Mrs Hinch , who first grew to fame for documenting her cleaning tips on social media, has been an inspiration for many during this time.

Searches for one of Mrs Hinch’s most famous cleaning products, Minky cloths, have even soared 160% since lockdown began.

Now, Mrs Hinch’s top cleaning hack has been revealed, reports the Mirror .

Cleaning company End of Tenancy Cleaning London has compiled a list of the best Mrs Hinch-approved products and hacks.

The results show that Mrs Hinch’s ‘bicarbonate soda on the mattress’ trick is the most searched for, with 26.32% of the vote.

The cleaning sensation keeps her mattress clean using a simple hack - and it's cheap too.

Posting to her 3.3million followers, the social media star said she uses bicarbonate of soda, a sieve, a hoover and essential oils to work her magic.

After stripping the bed, the mum-of-one said she sprinkles the powder on the mattress using a sieve and then leaves it to set for at least an hour.

She explained to fans on Instagram: "For those asking why I use bicarb and what does it do, it’s an odour eliminator so any odours that may be lingering in the mattress it just soaks them up and absorbs them. It works really, really well."

Next, she adds a couple of drops of her favourite lavender essential oil to the pillows, but you can add whichever you prefer if this scent isn’t your cup of tea.

Lavender does, however, have calming and soothing properties which can also encourage a restful night’s sleep.

Finally, the hoover is put to use at the very end, when you remove all of the excess, leaving a fresh smelling mattress and pillows.

And the even better news is that bicarbonate of soda won’t break the purse strings, with a box setting you back £1.85 from Ethical Superstore .
