Mrs Hinch fans thrilled with £2.99 hack that eliminates washing machine black mould

Nobody enjoys the chore of cleaning your washing machine, however, if you find black mould hidden within the appliance, you will know how tricky it can be to clean out.

Removing the harmful substance must be done, despite the task being easier said than done. Mould can often conceal itself within the rubber of the appliance and one woman knows exactly how hard it can be to get out. She was left exasperated after struggling to fix this common problem in her home.

From mould remover to bleach, the woman tried a range of conventional cleaning methods. However, despite her efforts, "nothing worked" at first, and she was left stuck with the mould inside her washing machine.

She was overjoyed to find a product to relieve her of her burden, and even better, it was a bargain, costing her a mere "couple of pounds".

Excited to pass on the lifesaving hack, Christine Hughes, the cleaning master in question, took to Facebook. Writing on Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, she revealed how she rid her washing machine of black mould using Vamoosh, 6-in-1 Washing Machine Cleaner.

Captioning a photo of the item in question, she wrote: "Seen lots of posts about mould in a washing machine. All the inside of the rubber in mine had black mould. I tried mould remover on cotton pads.

The woman was 'shocked' when she tried the product for herself (Christine Hughes)

"I tried scrubbing it with mould remover even tried bleach. Nothing worked. Went in Home Bargains and got this for a couple of pounds. Omg it has got rid of all the mould, I will definitely be getting some more."

Explaining how to use the washing machine cleaner in a comment, she said: "You just put it in your powder compartment and put it on a 90 degree wash.

"It really works, was so shocked."

And she is not alone as she swears by the cleaning product, which is available for £2.99 in B&M, as one helpful commenter pointed out.

One reply read: "I also love Vamoosh. It is brilliant stuff."

Someone added: "Snap! Same problem mould and soap residue around door seal found some washing machine cleaner in my cupboard I'd forgotten about and after a couple of cycles it's gone."

A third wrote: "I use the version of this for pet hair, it dissolves the pet hair that gets in the pipes etc. It's really good, I have it on repeat order from Amazon." Several people also thanked Christine for revealing the tip.

Meanwhile, a different commenter shared another suggestion, writing: "I always wipe out the rubber seal after every wash and never (sic) have mould and then leave door open to air off."
