As the cost of living rises, many people are thinking of ways that they can reuse things, recycle as much as possible, and reduce waste around the home - and this may include looking for savvier ways to clean around the home.
There are many things you'll do without even thinking, and one of them is likely to be throwing your tumble dryer condenser water away. Most people would do this without a second thought, but as times get tough, some people will want to find a better use for it, ensuring they're not wasting a thing, even whilst tidying up after themselves.
One savvy person took to the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook group to ask what they could do with the water, as it felt 'criminal' to just put it down the drain.
She wrote: "Can someone please remind me what useful things you can use tumble dryer condenser water for?
"It feels criminal somehow pouring it down the drain. I'd rather reuse if possible."
And it turns out that a lot of fellow Mrs Hinch lovers like to clean their windows with the leftover water, as it was a suggestion from many.
One wrote: "A lot of people use it for cleaning windows!"
Someone else simply wrote: "Cleaning windows", and someone else said: "Windows and shower screen."
Others suggested "mirrors".
A Mrs Hinch fan said that they'd use the water for watering their plants, but then someone else said they'd been specifically told not to do that by gardeners.
She wrote: "Apparently you shouldn't as it is considered grey water. I was thinking about doing it and was advised by a number or members of a gardening group not to. I did a bit of research and it was confirmed."
