Cleaning influencer Mrs Hinch has attracted an army of fans by sharing simple hacks which can make even the most stubborn of tasks a little easier.

Now many of her followers are getting in on the act by discussing their own experiences on a number of fan Facebook pages.

One topic that has gathered plenty of comments and suggestions is how to remove those stubborn yellow marks that often stain our pillows, The Express reports.

Cleaning enthusiast Mollie Kalk turned to the social media giant for advice, asking: "How to clean pillows?? Every time I wash them they come out ruined.

One commenter said the pillow 'came out so white' (Getty)

"My husband likes flat as pancake pillows and won't let me throw them away. I have just put them in covers for now."

Many fans shared their best recommendations with many agreeing on one simple way to fix the problem: strip washing.

Nikki Glass said: "I fixed it by strip cleaning, which was a tub full of the hottest water I could get it to, I poured in some mule team borax, and laundry detergent and it soaked for a while, rinse and repeat, pillow came out white with not even a trace that there were stains."

Cheyenne Stonechild agreed: "I had a couple that looked like this and I put them in the tub to soak in bleach and laundry detergent, it didn’t make them super white but it helped a bit."

Victoria Way said: "Fill up the bathtub with warm water, add borax, vinegar, laundry soap, and stain removing powder let it soak for several hours."

She added she specifically used white vinegar.

"You can dilute it a little too if you would like. I do not dilute it."

Cat Walk explained: "Soak in a bin with laundry detergent and air dry flat in the sun."

And Isabel Mclean recommended: "I wash mine in the washing machine with bleach, two at a time, to balance washer.

"Then I throw them in the dryer with a bunch of tennis balls and that stops them from ‘clumping’. I’ve had success that way."
