Mrs Hinch fans share cleaning tricks which 'works wonders' for clothes with tissue left in pockets

While the golden rule of washing is never mixing darks and lights, a close second is making sure that pockets are empty before banging them in for a cycle.

Not only can stray bits of food, wrappers and change be detrimental to your washing machine's health, but other objects can also completely ruin your clothing.

For example, a napkin or tissue - no matter how small - can make a substantial mess of your load, with paper particles breaking down into fragments before clinging to clothing in an immovable fashion.

The Mirror reports that taking to Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips page on Facebook, Stevie Anne Hamilton sought advice from social media users after facing that exact situation. Sharing a post on the page - which boasts more than 625,000 members - they sought the best resolution to removing tissue from a pocket.

Seeking help, they wrote: "Best way to remove tissue from a pocket that has gone through the washing machine please? Lint roller not cutting it."

Since posting, the Facebook user's query for advice has raked in over 120 comments to date. And flocking to the comment section, Mrs Hinch fans shared the best resolution to ridding of the problem if they find that nothing else makes it budge.

One person suggested: "Sellotape put around your hand rub over it," while a second person, agreed: "How about winding Sellotape around your fingers, sticky side outermost and circulate/rub around the inside of your pocket x."

Meanwhile, someone else suggested: "I've found that using a dry clean toothbrush (the bog standard ones you can buy in a pack of 4) worked wonders for getting all the tissue out."

Someone else, said: "Try a marigold rubber glove they are great for removing hair, dandruff, fluff and stuff from your clothes," while another user, wrote: "Turn pocket inside out, wash again and dry."
