Cleaning a grimy hob can be a nightmare if sticky spills aren't budging as bits of old pasta and sauce lay claim to the surface.
Thankfully, the cleaning enthusiasts recommend a cheap solution to the problem. Fans of Sophie Hinchcliffe - better known as Mrs Hinch - have traded tips for easy ways you can clear stubborn grease and grime.
Two of the most popular methods suggest using household items that costs a pound or less. A person on a Mrs Hinch cleaning tips page on Facebook introduced the subject by saying: "First time cooking on my new hob, think there must have been something on the bottom of the saucepan I used.
"Any idea how to get this off? Almost looks like fat or oil marks. Tried manic sponge with elbow grease so far."
And many commenters said the product they use most often is baking soda - or bicarbonate of soda - which will cost you just 75p to buy from Asda in a 200g tub, the Mirror reports.
Some said they mixed the product with lemon or used the citrus fruit as a scrubber to clean the surface of their hob with, but others said using bicarb on its own did the trick.
One wrote: "I've heard of using baking soda and a cut lemon half. Take the lemon over the baking soda in a circular motion to get it removed."

While another said: "Baking soda, on stove warm towel big enough to cover soda. Let sit for a bit and clean."
And a third suggested mixing the product with white vinegar, which is a popular method of cleaning many items around the home. They posted: "Baking soda mixed with a little white cleaning vinegar and a little lemon if you have but you don't need that, it just smells good.
"Make a paste and leave it on for 30 mins then wipe it off. You will be amazed how many things you can clean with this mix also you can put it in more water to wash sinks, carpet, anything really."
But if you want to try a dedicated cleaning product, then Mrs Hinch fans say that Pink Stuff cleaning paste does the trick - which you can pick up for £1 for an 500g tub at Wilko or £1.50 for 850g.
Someone wrote: "I use the Pink Stuff in a tub - does brilliantly. No scrubbing, just wipe and rinse."
As someone else stated: "Pink Stuff is great, it's what I use."
