Many people have their favourite cleaning hacks but Mrs Hinch fans have been raving about a way to clean your washing machine that will only cost around 4p. Grime busters have shared the "secret" ingredient and it turns out you'll probably already have one of the little cleaning aids in your cupboard.
While we rely on our washing machines to get our clothes clean, it is easy to forget that the washing machine itself needs a clean from time to time. Tackling the job isn't as tricky as you might think, especially with a handy additional that fans say with get your "entire" washing machine sparkling in just five minutes, according to a report in the Mirror.
As dirt from your laundry can build up inside your machine, a deep clean is important as the conditions can be an ideal breeding ground for bacteria and mould. While there are various products available to tackle the tough cleaning job, followers of the Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page have been discussing alternative methods of getting their machines sparkling. One wrote: "So I've been seeing the trick about putting dishwasher tablets through your washing machine to clean the entire washer out, well I've just tried it.

The social media user continued: "Just five minutes in and the water was already brown. Safe to say it works. My washing machine is now sparkling."
One fellow group member applauded: "Wow, just wow. I didn't think much would happen. Must admit I spent the whole wash just watching the water turn grey/brown. Top tip, I will be sharing."
Another approved: "I have just tried using dishwasher tablets in the machine on a 90 wash and the black on the door rubber has disappeared. Amazing."
You can try this tip for yourself by placing the tablet into the drum, before adding more water via the detergent compartment, all while making sure to keep the door closed. This should be done until the level just about exceeds the height of the hatch's lower edge.
As an example, a packet of 30 Just Essential dishwasher tablets will set you back £1.34 at Asda, working out as just over 4p per tablet. You can also currently grab packs of 40 tablets at Wilko as part of a two for £5 offer.
