Mrs Hinch fans' 'magic' £1 trick melts away yellow pillow stains in minutes

All kinds of sweat and bodily oils can seep into your pillow case and cause it to stain.

After a while, the stains can turn yellow which is not what you want to see when you go to sleep at night.

Thankfully, fans of the cleaning sensation Mrs Hinch, real name Sophie Hinchliffe, have shared their top tips for ridding your pillows of these yellow marks - and the 'magic' product only costs £1.

Mrs Hinch is an online cleaning influencer with a following of over four million people and fans of hers often share tips and tricks on their dedicated cleaning tips Facebook page.

In a recent post, one follower of the Facebook page was in need of some cleaning advice and reached out to get any tips for removing the yellow stains from pillows.

The person said: "Can anyone recommend anything for getting yellow stains off white pillowcases?

"I think it's a combo of sweat and my husband's hair gel. Also have yellow stains on some white towels and not a clue what they are, please help! Thank you."

Cleaning obsessives flocked to the comments to share their tips on how to remedy the situation and there was a majorly popular product recommendation: Elbow Grease spray.

One person wrote: "The stains will come off easily with Elbow Grease spray (yellow one. Just spray it on the area and wash as normal. You can pick it up cheap at Home Bargains for like £1."

While another stated: "I sprayed the stain with Elbow Grease and washed on a 90 degree wash. it looks so much better now."

A third penned: "Elbow Grease spray and leave for 10 minutes, then soak in bio detergent in hot water for 10 minutes and then wash as normal. They'll be white again."

While a fourth added: "Spray Elbow Grease and leave for five to 10 minutes and give it a light scrub before putting in wash on a bedding cycle. The marks will vanish."
