Mrs Hinch fans go wild for 2p trick to remove dirt hidden behind radiators

Radiators are notoriously hard to clean, thanks to the hard-to-reach dust that collects behind them. But cleaning gurus can rest assured as your house need not harbour dirt and grime. Mrs Hinch fans have shared their top tips for cleaning the grubby spot between the radiator and the wall, and there's several simple solutions, as the Sun reports.

After one confused homeowner took to Facebook asking "can anybody help me with tips for cleaning my radiators? The top doesn't come off," people were quick to share their expert advice, including a quick, easy trick that will cost under 2p.

If you're happy to splash more cash, commenters recommended buying a special radiator brush, but they also revealed a trick you can use for free. The cheapest approach involves making a DIY radiator brush out of two common household items: a cloth and a feather duster. Simply attach the two, then wipe the dirt away.

Alternatively, you could try the 2p trick that emerged as a fan favourite. "Blast with a hairdryer. It will blow the dust out of the bottom," as one commenter recommended.

Praising the fast-acting tip, another said: "I blow the hairdryer down mine to blast the dust out and then hoover up what comes out!" Of course, the tip will add to your energy costs, but only marginally.

Given it costs approximately 16p to use your hairdryer for ten minutes under the new price cap, the tip will cost you less than 2p per clean - if you spend one minute blasting your radiator.

Elsewhere, a cleaning expert recommend homeowners use their hoovers when trying to trapped crumbs, suggesting the appliance can even be useful when cleaning the oven.

"Vacuum up stray crumbs with the crevice attachment of your vacuum," the expert advised in a post to TikTok.
