It's vital to keep our bathrooms free from pools of water as warm and damp conditions can be a breeding source for mould when left untreated.
Cleaning shower glass, bathtubs and tiles is a pretty simple task in itself, but there's one place which is incredibly tough to make shine once again after it's turned mouldy - and it comes in the form of the silicone seal surrounding our appliances.
You can find the bond around windows, doors, and patios - but its more commonly found around bathtubs and sinks, creating a water-tight seal which prevents excess water dripping through the cracks.

The Mirror reports that when water sits on the rubbery surface for too long mould can grow inside the squishy material - which some cleaning sprays and home remedies just won't fix. Thankfully though, fans of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch have discovered there is one cleaning product out there that works wonders on sealant and silicone - and it costs just £5.50 to buy.
In one Facebook group dedicated to fans of the cleaning queen, someone asked: "How do I clean the silicone around my windows/patio doors? They are all new, within about two years (not new build) so not sure why they are getting mouldy.
"No mould anywhere else. Windows are locked or open most of the day and the heating is on. How do I clean it without damaging the carpet?"
The post was flooded with comments from people raving about HG Mould Remover spray, which some claim is the 'only thing' that works on the mould in their home. One person said: "HG mould remover. The only thing that shifted mine."
Another agreed, adding: "Just used this on my bathroom grout and some mould on the kitchen wall - best thing I've tried and effortless!"
Another shared a picture of the product and wrote: "I have this, it's amazing."
HG Mould Remover costs £5.50 from Wickes for a 500ml bottle, and is the same price at Tesco. The product is also available at Wilko for £7.75, Lakeland for £6.99, and Amazon for £8.99.
If you're not keen on trying the HG spray, other commenters also recommended trying items such as baby wipes and white vinegar. Someone posted: "Wipe with white vinegar and a micro-fibre cloth."
While another, said using Mould Magic gel - which costs around £13 and is said to remove 'years-old ingrained mould' - works wonders, as they explained: "I would use Magic Mould. As a gel, you can target where you need it.
"A spray is much harder to control. You can get it from Must Have Ideas online. Simply apply. Leave a few hours and wipe away."
