Mrs Hinch fan shares cheap cleaning trick that makes dirty pans sparkle

We’ve all got one tucked away at the back of a cupboard in the kitchen that we say we’ll get round to cleaning , but never do.

Until it’s time to use it again and then we remember we still haven’t cleaned it.

The humble frying pan comes in handy - and not just for cooking the obvious , but as an impromptu utensil for making a last-minute stir-fry or searing a tasty bit of meat.

But after plenty of uses, the bottom becomes burnt, and can start to look a bit grubby.

No amount of scrubbing or washing up liquid can get rid of the stains, despite the best of efforts.

These brown stains are usually caused by stray cooking oil leaking down to the bottom of the pan and then heating up at a high temperature.

But, one Mrs Hinch fan has revealed the secret to her sparkling clean pans, the Daily Star reports.

On her cleaning and home focused Instagram account, Eleana Brunt, who goes by the username @asfreshasadaisyy , posted a before and after picture of her frying pan.

She wrote: “My frying pan before and after.

“I used the Pink Stuff paste , Elbow Grease and Flash bicarbonate soda spray with a Brillo pad and a lot of scrubbing.”

She added: “There’s no need for a new one now, these products produce amazing results!”

The Mrs Hinch enthusiast shared photos of her pan going from blackened to clean silver.

Lots of followers were amazed by the transformation, which they labelled “amazing” and “wow”.

One person wrote: “Wow! What’s your secret weapon?”

The cleaning fan also listed her favourite products that she uses for cleaning her pans - including The Pink Stuff, The Miracle Cleaning Paste .

You can buy the thick scrubbing paste for £1 at Sainsbury’s or 89p at The Range.

Here’s how Eleana got her pans sparkling

Work the oil-based Star Drops brand cleanser into the bottom of the pan using circular motions for a few minutes before rinsing off.

Then, use another Sophie Hinchcliffe favourite, Elbow Grease de-greaser spray and scrub this into the base of the pan too.

You can buy Elbow Grease for £1 a bottle at the Pound Shop or The Range.

Then, go in with the Flash Bicarbonate All Purpose Spray, £2 at Wilko’s , and scrub for a further few minutes.

Repeat the steps using hot water until your pans are squeaky clean.

Remember to check that all products and pads are suitable for the material of your pots and pans before trying this cleaning hack, altogether it should cost you no more than £4 - much cheaper than a new set of pans.
