Mrs Hinch fan's £1 hack to make toilet bowl limescale 'disappear'

Anyone who lives in an area with hard water will know all too well how problematic limescale can be.

It can build up in your kettle, shower and even your toilet, making them seem almost impossible to clean. One fan of cleaning guru Mrs Hinch admitted "trying for years" to clean her toilet bowl with little results, until now.

Posting in a Facebook group set up by fellow Mrs Hinch fans, the woman said she found a product that has given her a "clean looking toilet at last", and she only had to spend £1 for a bottle.

The woman thanked posters before her who had recommended using Harpic Black, also known as Harpic Power Plus, as she said she left the product in her toilet overnight and woke up to it sparkling, the Mirror reports.

She said: "I've been trying for years to get limescale off the bottom of the bowl. I'd tried coke, scrubbing and a ton of bleach. Nothing worked! I saw on here to try Harpic Black, I poured the whole bottle down and it left overnight (I scooped as much water as possible out first) and well wow it worked.

"So happy to have a clean-looking toilet at last! Thanks to all who suggested it!" Many other cleaning enthusiasts also took to the comments of the woman's post to agree that Harpic Black works wonders when it comes to getting toilets looking good as new.

One said: "It's great stuff, I've used it on grubby tile grout too. Pour on grout, leave a while then scrub." Another added: "Always used Harpic toilet cleaner for an effortless solution. It takes five minutes to apply to the bowl and leaves the toilet absolutely spotless."

Bottles of Harpic Power Plus are available at Poundland for just £1, although local supermarkets such as Tesco and Asda also stock the product for £1.65 and £1.75 respectively.
