The cast of Mrs Brown's Boys have reunited to film their annual Christmas special even though two of its stars have walked out.
The hit BBC One show saw a scandal unfold behind the scenes when stars Gary Hollywood and Damien McKiernan quit over pay earlier this month.
The actors - who play boyfriends Dino and Rory - clashed with bosses after finding out about a difference in salary, later making the decision to walk away from the show.
Despite that, the show's creator Brendan O’Carroll has signalled “the show must go on” - as the cast got together to film for the upcoming festive season, reports Daily Star.
The cast were pictured on a Zoom call during a virtual table read of the Christmas special episode.
What's more, fuel was added to the fire when bosses decided to swerve featuring Gary and Damien in the Mrs Brown’s Boys’ 2021 calendar.
It comes just weeks after Damien reportedly 'liked' a tweet that slammed co-star Brendan O'Carroll for getting "too big for his boots."
The 54-year-old star called out the series bosses amid frustration over their pay gap.
The show has been plunged into crisis talks after the two stars discovered they were earning less than their co-stars.
Since the dispute erupted, Damien reportedly took to social media to 'like' a message that called out O'Carroll - who plays Agnes Brown.
According to the MailOnline, the actor appeared to show his support for the message on Twitter.
The original tweet read: "This it is shocking the way [Brendan O'Carroll] has treated [Gary Hollywood]. Think Brendan has got too big for his boots!"
A BBC representative for Mrs Brown's Boys declined to comment when approached by the Mirror.
The cryptic message was the latest blow after it was reported that there had been a tense exchange between Gary Hollywood and the show bosses.
Having complained about their pay, Gary was warned that his role would be reduced and he would have less screen time over the Christmas specials.
Several insiders have reported that tensions were high behind the scenes of the hit BBC comedy.
