Mrs Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll shares the secret of his impressive weight loss

Mrs Brown’s Boys star Danny O’Carroll has shared the secret of his impressive weight loss.

The Buster Brady actor said he hit the treadmill and stuck to a rigorous workout routine to shed the pounds.

Telly favourite Danny, 37, stunned fans earlier this year when he shared before and after snaps revealing he’d shifted over a stone in less than 40 days.

He told RSVP Live: “I don’t know a lot about dieting and exercise, I’m just doing everything off the cuff.

“I don’t have a personal trainer or I’m not running around for advice or stuff.”

He added: “I got the MyFitnessPal app and I’ve started logging my calories every day. I also train every day.

“I have a FitBit and I make sure to get my 10,000 steps before I hit the treadmill and run 5-8 kilometres, and then do a dumbbell workout for as long as I feel like.”

As it stands, Danny currently weighs 12.9 stone, having weighed just over 14 stone when he started his fitness regime three months ago.

The Dubliner claims he is no expert, but by making a few simple changes to his diet and adopting an exercise routine, he has noticed a difference in his weight.

The actor celebrated 14 years of marriage to wife Amanda last month.

Danny has previously admitted it was love at first sight when he and Amanda had a chance meeting in a Donegal bar in 2006.
