Mrs Brown's Boys returns for first time in nine years with new series to air on BBC

Mrs Brown's Boys will be making a grand return with new episodes set to air on BBC.

Although there are Christmas specials every year, the iconic series ended almost a decade ago.

But Brendan O’Carroll and the rest of the cast will be returning to our TV screens soon with a cast source revealing to The Sun that filming for new episodes has been booked for April this year.

The show debuted in 2011 and was an international success.

It was voted best sitcom of the 21st century and National TV Awards’ Best Comedy category for three years in a row.

The show's Christmas special made a comeback this year after dropping 100,000 viewers in 2020.

The 2021 show 'Mammy’s Mechanical Merriment' attracted 526,000 fans.
