Mrs Brown's Boys Halloween special tops TV ratings as Kin finale and Late Late Show suffers

Mrs Brown’s Boys topped the TV ratings pulling in thousands more viewers than Kin’s explosive finale and Ryan Tubridy’s Late Late Show.

An RTE spokesman revealed the live Halloween programme on Friday night had an average viewership of 546,000, with a 44% share of those watching TV. It was also reported 2.6 million viewers tuned in to watch on BBC, Mrs Brown’s worst figures since it began in 2011.

The show, which pulled in 7 million viewers for its 2019 show, has seen ratings fall. Meanwhile, Friday night’s shorter Late Late Show suffered a huge drop in viewers, after it was moved down the schedule to accommodate Agnes Brown’s live special.

The show, which aired at the later time of 10pm pulled in an average of 397,000 viewers to the programme, with 42% of the share of those watching TV at the time. Elsewhere, Kin’s explosive finale on Sunday night recorded an average of 502,000 people tuning into RTE One.

A spokesperson added that “a significant number of viewers” are catching up on the show after the live broadcast with a consolidated figure of 620,000 viewers for the first seven episodes.
