Mrs Brown's Boys Christmas Special has live audience in hysterics

It's Christmas already for Mrs Brown and her boys as filming on the festive special gets under way.

The matriarch, played by Brendan O’Carroll, invited “her” co-stars on stage before a live audience.

The famous house was recreated on the set at the BBC studios in Glasgow.

In a video posted on the official Mrs Brown’s Boys Facebook page, the extremely proud mammy welcomes the show’s cast to a thunderous applause.

Earlier, Brendan and his wife and co-star Jenny Gibney threw their arms in the air and posted online: “Finally back recording our Christmas specials, so good to be back in front of a live audience”.

Meanwhile, Fiona O’Carroll, who plays Maria Brown, revealed she couldn’t wait to get home to her kids after filming wrapped.

She took to her Instagram stories and said: “First Xmas special done. Home to my boys for a few days. Had a blast, Glasgow.”

One fan wrote: “Awesome to watch yesterday and exceedingly funny. Can’t wait to see the full Xmas special. Well done to you all. Thank you.”

People as far flung as North America took to social media to cheer on the Boys.

One wrote: “Cheers from Canada. Absolutely love Mrs Brown’s Boys.”

Others were asking to bring back some of the old cast.

One said: “Wish we could have another series not just at Christmas and please bring back the original Roy and Dino.”
