Mr Motivator to return to TV to keep us fit during coronavirus lockdown

He's a legend in lycra, a man whose dayglo outfits became synonymous with '90's daytime TV.

And now, as Britain prepares to enter its second week of coronavirus lockdown, Mr Motivator is to return to our screens once again to help keep us fit.

The presenter, who rose to fame via his colourful outfits and regular home exercise slot on GMTV, is back to keep us fit at home in the midst of the ongoing health crisis.

The 67-year-old star will have a regular slot on HealthCheck UK Live, a new weekday programme aimed at offering "advice and companionship" during the global pandemic, which is due to air on BBC ONE from Monday (March 30) at 10am.

The Jamaican-born star, whose real name is Derrick Evans, is also about to launch daily livestreamed workouts, named the Daily Dozen, at noon every day, on his Twitter and impending YouTube channels.

The old school fitness star said: "Now more than ever it is important to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Everybody say yeah, let's get happy and be wicked at home."

The star's return follows the success of millennial exercise coaches such as Joe Wickes, who recently began livestreaming a series of YouTube workouts for school children stuck at home during the current spread of COVID-19.
