Mr Motivator, and his questionable choice in leotards, is coming back to television in a bid to keep the nation fit throughout the coronavirus crisis.

The 67-year-old fitness instructor (real name Derrick Evans) will be joining Michelle Ackerley, Dr Xand van Tulleken and Angela Rippon for HealthCheck UK Live, a brand new show by the BBC.

The show, which will air on weekdays from March 30th on BBC One, aims to provide “advice and companionship” during the nationwide lockdown throughout the Covid-19 outbreak.

Ahead of the show’s debut next Monday, Mr Motivator said: “Now more than ever it is important to keep our bodies and minds healthy. Everybody say yeah, let's get happy and be wicked at home.”

Host Angela Rippon added: “Like millions of Britons across the country, and as an over 70, I will be self-isolating and 'working from home'.

"HealthCheck UK Live will offer a fantastic outlet to connect viewers and to remind us we can all fight this together."

Mr. Motivator made a name for himself as a fitness guru in the 90s after starring on ITV’s breakfast programme GMTV, performing a number of gym routines in the studio in his famously lurid outfits.

Leaving the programme in 2000, he briefly returned in 2009 to motivate the nation once more.

Mr. Motivator isn’t the only celebrity who is looking to help the nation get fit from their living rooms.

Joe Wicks, also known as ‘The Body Coach’, has launched a daily fitness class for children, who have seen themselves stuck at home after schools were forced to close early.

Available to watch on YouTube, the short classes have been ready to watch at 9am every day in order to give children and parents at home more routine.
