Mr Flashy pal was 'fleeing thugs from rival mob' when involved in horror Dublin crash

Gardai believe a pal of mob boss Mr Flashy may have been fleeing thugs from a rival faction when he was involved in a horror road crash yesterday.

The man was left fighting for his life after the collision at around 6pm on the M3, in the Mulhuddart area of West Dublin, and is in hospital with very serious injuries.

A young passenger is receiving treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

Gardai are investigating if the man, who was driving a white van, was trying to flee hoods from a Blanchardstown drug dealing mob.

They are also trying to establish if the hoods had confronted the man at a shop beforehand and decided to chase him.

The seriously injured driver is a close friend of Mr Flashy and has previous convictions for drugs and firearm possession.

Finglas mobster Mr Flashy's crew were in a dispute before with the rival Blanch mob in 2019. Known as the Corduff feud, it has started to reignite in recent weeks.

A source said: "This is a very serious incident and gardai are looking into whether opposing gang members were chasing this young man."

We can also reveal members of the same gang previously targeted the badly injured driver when they firebombed the house he was living in.

Last night, a Garda spokesman said: "The road remains closed. A technical examination is due to take place."

Officers appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the collision on the M3 (Navan Road) towards Mulhuddart and near Canterbury Gate, to get in touch.

The Corduff feud kicked off in early 2019 when Flashy's gang weighed in behind former members of the Westies against the Blanch mob.

The feud has seen over 100 incidents including an innocent man seriously injured when shot in a case of mistaken identity, shots fired outside a school, firebombs and assaults.
