'Mr Champions League' - Man United fans hail Cristiano Ronaldo after another late winner

Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal marked a glorious comeback at Old Trafford as Manchester United beat Atalanta 3-2 on Wednesday night.

United were 2-0 down at half-time to the Italian side but goals from Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Ronaldo in the second half spared the team’s blushes and took them top of Group F.

Ronaldo endured a frustrating first half, struggling to get into the game as United were outclassed, and the striker missed a glorious chance in the opening stages of the second half as tensions mounted inside Old Trafford.

But Rashford soon calmed the nerves before Maguire swept home inside the area.

Minutes later, Ronaldo thumped home a Luke Shaw’s cross to give United all three points and fans were over the moon with the goal, taking to social media to heap praise on the striker.

It was the second Champions League game in a row where Ronaldo's late goal earned United the win, doing the same in Gameweek 2 against Villarreal.
