Peter Murrell, the former SNP chief executive, has admitted to embezzling more than £400,000 from his party, with the money spent on luxury goods, cars and even a motorhome.
In a dramatic fall from grace, Murrell, the estranged husband of former first minister Nicola Sturgeon, was charged on Monday after pleading guilty to embezzlement charges carried out between August 2010 and October 2022.
