MPL PH Season 16: Schedule, results, standings, more

The stakes couldn’t get higher as the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines Season 16 (MPL PH Season 16) pits the region’s eight strongest teams for a shot at international glory.

With the second half of the 2025 season kicking off after MSC x EWC 2025, the teams now shift their eyes toward securing the Philippines’ two coveted spots at the MLBB M7 World Championship slated in Indonesia in January 2026.

Reigning MSC and MPL PH champions Team Liquid Philippines are determined to defend their crown and chase a potential grand slam at M7. But standing in their way are defending world champs ONIC Philippines, along with other contenders hungry to step on the global stage.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 16th season of MPL Philippines.

MPL PH Season 16 format

Similar to past seasons, MPL PH Season 16 is split into two stages: regular season and playoffs.

The regular season, running from Aug. 22 to Oct. 12, follows a double round-robin format, meaning each team is set to face every other team twice throughout the stage. All matches during this phase are best-of-three.

Teams earn one point for every series win, while a loss does not grant any points. At the end of the regular season, only the top six teams on the standings will move forward to the playoffs.

The playoffs feature a hybrid elimination format. Teams seeded third to sixth begin their campaign in the first round, which is played in a do-or-die format. Meanwhile, the top two seeds from the regular season receive a bye to the second round, where the competition shifts to a double-elimination format, giving teams a second chance even if they lose once.

All matches in the playoffs are best-of-five, except for the lower bracket final and grand final, where teams clash in best-of-seven series. The top two teams at the end of the season qualify for the M7 World Championship.
