INDORE: Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) has allotted 200 hectares undeveloped and semi-developed land to industries in different pockets across the state.
The industry department has recently allotted land to firms in Mohana in Depalpur tehsil of Indore, Jaitapur in Dhar district, Balaghat and villages near Bhopal among others.
MPIDC managing director John Kingsly said, “Recently, we have allotted over 200 hectares land in undeveloped and semi-developed form to industries across the state. The response from industries post the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic is encouraging with many new players keen to invest and existing ones going for expansion mode.” He said investments have come from textiles, pharmaceuticals and food processing sectors among others.
“Over 100 hectares of undeveloped land was allotted to investors in Mohana. The area has attracted many industries and the process is still on,” Kingsly said. The proposed industrial area at Mohana is spread on 140 hectares and is estimated to be developed at a cost of Rs100 crore.
Availability of land bank and allotment to industries with sectoral subsidies have wooed investors, claimed industry players.
