A Leeds MP has announced plans for a huge day of Brexit celebrations in her constituency to mark the day the UK is set to formally leave the European Union.
Just before Christmas, MPs backed a bill to take the UK out of the EU by 358 votes to 234. It means that the UK will officially leave the EU at 11pm on Friday, January 31.
Andrea Jenkyns MP, who represents Morley and Outwood, has been a vocal Brexit campaigner over the past few years and she is now calling on her constituents to host a massive party at the end of the month.
"I am trying to organise a patriotic Brexit Day celebration in Morley for 31st January and hear our bells ring out at 11pm from our beautiful town hall," she said on her official Facebook page.
"Looking for bands and street food sellers etc who would like to take part. Please email me if interested Andrea.jenkyns.mp@parliament.uk. More details and posters to follow."
