BHOPAL: On the last day of campaigning, CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday trained his guns on PCC chief Kamal Nath, while addressing public meetings in Raigaon and Prithvipur assembly seats which go to bypolls on Saturday.
“Congress is distraught and troubled, Kamal Nath ji levels allegations against me daily. He says the chief minister is a ‘ghoshnaveer’ and makes new announcements every day. I know he doesn’t even have the courage to make announcements,” Chouhan said, at a public meeting in Prithvipur.
Chouhan asked when Nath was the chief minister for 15 months, did he ever meet people? “I halt nights at the homes of the poor. Have you ever seen him with the poor?” he said.
“Kamal Nath ji is just available on Twitter. What does the poor know about Twitter?” Chouhan asked.
Earlier, addressing a meeting at Kothi in Raigaon constituency on Wednesday afternoon, Chouhan told the gathering, “Kamal Nath ji says that the chief minister walks with coconuts in his pockets. If I don’t move with coconuts in my pocket, then what should I do?” he said, on Congress’s allegation.
“Congress says I break coconuts. When I make Kothi a tehsil, will I not break a coconut? When I beautify the reservoir in Kothi, will I not break a coconut? When I make a statue of martyred Karanveer Singh of Kothi, will I not break a coconut?”, Chouhan said.
Chouhan said that he will break coconuts in Raigaon when he installs a statue of Dr B R Ambedkar and when he brings water to the constituency. He said he will break coconuts when his government constructs bridges and inaugurates new schools.
Chouhan cautioned people against casting votes in favour of the opposition Congress. “If you help Congress win, will there be development?” he asked.
“Can Congress give you anything? They do not have a government at the Centre or in Bhopal. When they had a government, Kamal Nath ji did nothing. What will he do? He just flies birds on Twitter. Look at my sisters sitting here. They don’t want Twitter, they want pucca houses under the PM Awas Yojana,” Chouhan added.
