A Conservative MP has described why the government is not releasing a local breakdown of how many people have been vaccinated in the area.
Some Nottinghamshire politicians are calling on health bosses to release the number of people vaccinated across the county to build a true picture of how the programme is going.
The government has only released the overall number of people vaccinated across the UK and in wider regions such as the Midlands rather than a full local breakdown involving counties.
Labour's Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood described the lack of available data as "frustrating" and said it was important these figures were made available.
She said she did not know how many over 80s in the area she represents had received their vaccine letter and how many had actually been vaccinated.
She has been backed by council leaders including the leader of Broxtowe Borough Council who claimed that a number of residents couldn't even book an appointment.
There are 11 vaccine centres across Nottinghamshire.
Rushcliffe Conservative MP Ruth Edwards told Nottinghamshire Live: "I know the Government is working hard to make information about the number of people vaccinated locally available.
"However, at the moment, with dozens of new sites being set up across the country every day, this is not possible.
"I am in regular contact with Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Clinical Commissioning Group and they have assured me that they are on course to offer a vaccine to everyone in the top two most vulnerable groups by the end of January and everyone in the top four most vulnerable groups by the February 15.
"I would like to thank everyone involved in the huge effort of rolling out this vaccination programme."
