BHOPAL: PCC chief Kamal Nath on Saturday said that chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has “misled” the people of Madhya Pradesh for the last 18 years. “He has only made fake announcements in the name of development”, the senior Congress leader said.
Addressing public meetings at Raigaon assembly seat ahead of bypoll, Nath said Chouhan must apologise to the people for the backwardness of the area.
Nath said, “Shivraj ji must reply why there is water crisis in Raigaon and why the region still does not get water from Bargi? Why is there no college and students here have to move out for their higher studies.”
Nath said people in Raigaon have been voting for BJP for the last three decades. “Shivraj ji must give an account of 18 years and talk about what development has taken place here,” he said.
The former chief minister said, “Shivraj ji is still telling the people here that it will take two or three more years for development to take place here”.
Nath said that people are being mobilised for Chouhan’s public meetings and targets were given to the administration to create “crowds” while people on their own are joining Congress’s rallies.
Nath said, “BJP tells us to give an account of the work done in 15 months but it doesn’t tell people about what it has done in the past 18 years.” He said the ruling party was not able to address the biggest issue of employment and youths continue to face joblessness across the state. He also explained about the development schemes started by him during his 15-month-old regime.
