BHOPAL: A childless couple in Gwalior allegedly sacrificed two alleged ‘sex workers’ within a week under the influence of a black-magic practitioner in the hope of getting children. The plot came from a Bollywood thriller, say police.
One of the accused had sex with the women before he strangled them and dumped their bodies. The first sacrificial murder was committed on October 13 and the second on October 20.
All the accused — self-proclaimed godman Girwar Yadav, Bantu Bhadauriya, his wife Mamta, her sister Meera Rajawat and her friend Neeraj Parmar — have been arrested.
Police say Yadav goaded them into the double murder. He ordered the second killing on the ground that their first ‘sacrifice’ was not ‘accepted’ as the victim was drunk while being murdered, SP Amit Sanghi told TOI. He said that the investigation started with the recovery of a woman’s body in Gwalior on October 21. There were enough signs to set up a special team to probe it. The victim was identified as an alleged commercial sex worker. Police traced her contacts and zeroed in on Neeraj, and then the others. During questioning, they admitted to the crime.
According to Neeraj’s statement, Yadav, who claims to practice black magic, had told them that Bantu and Mamta could have children if they performed a human sacrifice.
Accused offered to pay Rs 10k to sex worker
The couple was married for 18 years and desperate to have a child. It was Neeraj who took them to Yadav, said the SP.
As per the plan, Neeraj called up the alleged sex worker offering Rs 10,000 for a night. After having sex, he strangled her. They were carrying the body to the godman for rituals when their motorcycle skidded. Scared, they fled, leaving the body on the roadside.
“When it began unfolding, it was no less than a horror movie plot,” said the SP.
When Neeraj and the other accused were interrogated, they revealed they had murdered another woman for the same reason a week earlier. Police had found her body in Morena district on October 14 and it was a blind case till then. As in the second case, Neeraj had sex with the woman and then strangled her. Investigators suspect the godman could have been involved in more such sacrifices. They plan to put him through a narco-analysis test.
