For fans of classical music, this is a rare chance to see a movie about one of the most prolific and influential composers of the classical era, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, while having his most celebrated works performed live at the same time. Amadeus Live will be held on Feb 22-23 at Prince Mahidol Hall, Mahidol University, Salaya campus in Nakhon Pathom.
Pianist Kwanchanok Pongpairoj.
The award-winning 1984 motion picture Amadeus is a story of the life, success and troubles of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as told by Antonio Salieri, the contemporary composer who was insanely jealous of Mozart's talent and is claimed to have murdered him.
Amadeus Live is a unique way to appreciate the film with the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra performing the composer's works alongside the screening. The event will therefore be an aural and visual treat for all senses.
Conductor Ludwig Wicki brings his incredible vision for the first time in Thailand while Thai pianist Kwanchanok Pongpairoj serves as soloist in the lyrically sublime Andante from Mozart's 21st piano concerto. Amadeus Live will also feature the Mahidol University chorus under the direction of Rit Subsomboon.
