Seven film studios have filed suit against 321 Studios, which sells DVD Copy Plus and DVD X Copy software, according to AP. However, Elcomsoft, the Russian softare house, has recently been found not guilty of breaking the law by creating software that breaks copy protection on Adobe eBooks. Also, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Public Knowledge, a public-interest advocacy group, want the US Copyright Office to change the rules to allow users to make backup copies of DVDs and CDs.
